Next Up On Our Spotlight....Behind the Scenes with the SB Blogger

When I was thinking about our next Instructor Spotlight, I realized that should probably share a little bit more about me since I haven't really done so since taking over the blog back in April. So...here you go!!

'Instructor Spotlight'

Where do you teach and when?
Mondays 5pm  - Merritt Canton
Tuesdays 7pm Merritt Canton
Thursdays 7pm Merritt White Marsh
Sundays 10am Merritt White Marsh

Favorite pre-workout meal/snack: The time of day and depending on what workout I have planned typically has an impact on what I chow down. I’m an early riser and prefer to sweat early in the morning so most of the time it's just a banana with some peanut-free Nuttzo.

Favorite recovery meal/snack: I LOVE an ice cold protein smoothie especially after a hard workout or long training run. I toss VegaSport Mocha Protein, almond milk, a frozen banana, spinach, a splash of egg whites and some ice in my Vitamix for heaven in a glass. Sometimes I even add some java to the mix for a caffeine boost.




What’s in your gym bag? A little bit of everything. 
1. bkr waterbottle
2. Newton running shoes
3. Headphones
4. NUUN tablets for hydration
5. BELIEVE Training Journal by Lauren Fleshman
 (I would definitely put this on your Christmas list)
6. Halo Headband
6. Lacrosse or Yoga Tune Up balls for stretching


Favorite workout gear, water bottle, etc.: I recently became a Fabletics Master (aka ambassador) so I am a HUGE fan of their workout clothes. Good quality, super cute and won’t break the bank. They recently opened a store at the Mall in Columbia and it’s definitely worth checking out.

Favorite barre move: all things plank and I love the band work in the new choreo (can't wait to share)

When you’re not at the barre, where may we find you? When I’m not teaching or working my full time sales job, I spend a lot of time hitting the pavement in preparation for my first full marathon at the end of October. I also spend a lot of time training and racing with Athletes Serving Athletes. I love spending time with my boyfriend, my bullmastiff Remy, family and friends including my fellow Gundalow Juice Ambassadors, Soul Body Community, November Project and BMOREtoned crew. 

Share something fun/interesting about yourself: I grew up in a dairy farm near Gettysburg, PA and when I was in college I found out that I was lactose intolerant. My favorite movie as a kid was Bedknobs and Broomsticks. I went to Penn State and rock Black and Yellow this time of year :)
