Instructor Spotlight is Headed to Richmond

Happy Wednesday everyone. I hope everyone had a great weekend and is excited about it being March which is one month closer to spring. There is lots to talk about, but I'll save that for later this week/weekend. I'd first like to get back to the instructor spotlight. The member spotlight will be coming soon as soon as I get some more responses. Until then, we are heading to Richmond and talking with an SB Body Barre instructor at Gold's Gym.

Instructor Spotlight:

Stacie Haygood

Where do you teach?
I teach SB BodyBarre on Thursdays at 9:35 am at our Gold's Gym Mechanicsville location.

What other classes do you teach besides BodyBarre?
I also teach other formats such as BodyPump, BodyStep, BodyAttack, CXWorx, and Grit.

I am the GGX Director for 5 of our locations in Richmond so I stay pretty busy, but I couldn't be successful without the help of my wonderful GGX managers: Shanna Lent, Michelle Mattson and Jami Town who also trained and teach SB BodyBarre.

What is your favorite meal or snack post workout?
My favorite recovery snack is a protein shake.

What do you never leave home without?
I never leave home without my iPhone! Not only does it have all my music and chorey notes on it, but it is a must to stay in touch with my instructors and GGX Managers!!!

What is your favorite workout gear?
I love my Format Specific workout gear such as Les Mills and SoulBody. I feel it shows professionalism and helps to advertise the classes we offer at Golds RVA!

If you could pick one of your favorite barre moves...what would it be?
My favorite Barre move is the "releve". Mainly because it works the calf muscle which isn't specifically focused on in the other formats I teach.

Why do you love teaching BodyBarre?
I love teaching BodyBarre because it is low impact and trains my body in a different way than the other formats I teach.

Tell us your favorite quote.
My favorite quote is "if it doesn't challenge you it doesn't change you"

Any advice for first timers at the barre?
My advice for BodyBarre beginners is to always remember that there are options and modifications that can be made to fit all our members fitness levels.

Thank you Stacie for being in our spotlight this week. We are fortunate to have you a part of the SoulBody Squad.

Check back later in the week for the March Fitness Calendar!!!

Emily
