What's New in the SB World

I know that there have been a lot of distractions so far this week with everything that has been going on in Baltimore, so I figured I’d start the week by chatting about all of the new and exciting things that are (and have been) going on in the SB world these days. Oh and I also wanted to tell you that you are beautiful, yes you!!

I’ll try and keep this pretty short and get right to the good stuff.

The SB Barre program is expanding which means you have more options to get to a club and try a class. New to Barre? No problem, check out this short videoto get a glimpse of what you can expect when you attend your first class. You can also message me and I can meet up with you for your first class to ensure you have a great experience.

We could not be more excited to see more clubs offer SB Barre and SB Body Barre. You can find SB Body Barre at BeachFit Baltimore, Thomas Moreland Fitness, and now Merritt Athletic Clubs Cranbrook. We are also proud to announce that Gold’s Gym Westminster is now offering SB Barre. What is even more exciting is that you can take SB Barre with the SB Barre creators, Stacey and Ann Marie ,at Meadow Mill Athletic Club. Check out the schedule and sign up for classes here. You can check out each locations website for a full list of classes (I made it easier and put most of the classes below). Merritt Athletic Clubs recently added more SB Barre classes so definitely check out their website to check out each location and the fitness schedules.

· Blocking/All exercises of the program
· All exercises that SB Barre/Body Barre incorporates into each class
· Cueing/follow up cueing
· Sequencing and SB FLOW
· Modifications
· Working with the music to help create a seamless class
· Motivating the class through personal interaction

So what is this Body Barre class that we keep talking about? SB Body Barre uses the same interval training and muscle shaping isometrics as our original SB Barre class, but uses the Body Bar™ for both the weighted portion as well as for "centered" barre work for legs and seat. Using the same blocking as our flagship program including upper body strength moving to intense thigh and seat work - finishing with bridge and core, along with yogic stretches - this method uses the weighted Body Bar™ and fitball throughout - Two props, unlimited possibilities!

Stacey and Ann Marie were featured in the March 2015 edition of Baltimore Style Magazine. You can read the full article here by Jessica Bizik that mentions this new program.

Definitely get to one of these clubs to take these classes and start changing your body. Trust me when I tell you that barre is one of the best workouts you can do. Barre, in conjunction with a healthy diet, will provide you with sustained, pure energy that will take you through your day!

Enjoy your week, be safe and pray for Baltimore.

SB Blog is BACK!

Hi and welcome to the SoulBody Blog. After some time away, I am thrilled to announce that the blog is back up and running in full force bringing you Barre talk, fitness talk, workouts, videos, kitchen creations, tips, motivation and daily happenings around Baltimore.

So I bet you are wondering who I am and how I’m connected to SoulBody. My name is Emily and I have been a member of the SoulBody community since September 2014 when I completed my initial SB Barre certification. In January, I completed my SB Body Barre certification at BeachFit Baltimore (stay tuned for more talk on this new program). You can find me at the barre at Merritt Athletic Clubs where you are guaranteed a fun, yet challenging workout for a solid 60 minutes. Ever since being introduced to SB Barre, I have been finding more ways to get involved in the Baltimore fitness community and share my passion for this program. I look forward to getting to know all of you through this blog and encourage you to live a healthy lifestyle.

For those of you who may be new to SoulBody, here’s a little recap of who we are…

“SoulBody was created out of a passion for sharing and celebrating the purity of movement and nutrition with our family, friends and community. We whole-heartedly believe exercise and healthy eating go hand-in-hand to create a soulful living. We approach the design of our classes and the foods we eat as simple and pure in form, but we go further to cultivate and transform both into a unique creation that we share with gratitude. What is SBBarre? SB Barre is an invigorating total body workout work out created from using the most progressive techniques and cutting edge choreography set to motivating music that will transform your body resulting in power, physical grace and stamina.”

Where do I even begin?!?! There have been so many exciting things happening within the Soul Body community over these past few months and I am looking forward to sharing the highlights. Unfortunately you will have to wait...stay tuned.

Thank you for stopping by to say HI. You can connect with Soul Body in all of these other fun places too!

Happy Weekend!
